Spring 2010 Skill Classes

Individual Skill Classes Spring Basketball Schedule

Class: Beginner’s Spring Basketball Class

Grade: Boy’s and Girl’s 5th through 8th grade

When: Monday’s and Wednesday’s

Where: South River Road Courthouse

Times: 4:00- 5:00 p.m.

Spring Session Begins: Monday March 29, 2010

Spring Session Ends: Wednesday May 26, 2010

Monthly Fee: $40 per month member/$50 non-member (8 classes)

Drop in Fee: $10 per class member/non-member

Criteria: This beginning spring class is designed for the young athlete that can shoot on a 10 ft basket. Emphasis is stressed on learning to shoot, dribble, pass, and develop proper footwork. Each individual will be taught basic defensive principles. Each participant will understand the rules of the game and taught not to travel and double dribble.

Details: If you are a beginning basketball player this class is for you. It will be taught at a slower rate to help develop each individual at the appropriate speed. Each participant will be challenged to his/her ability through age appropriate drills and taught the basic rules of the game. The individual will practice with a 28.5” basketball and receive a t-shirt.

Grade: Boy’s and Girl’s 1st through 4th grade

When: Monday’s and Wednesday’s

Criteria: This class is designed for the beginning and intermediate athlete. Emphasis is stressed on dribbling with the head up, passing correctly, and developing proper footwork. Average ages of this class are between 5-9.

Details: Each participant will be challenged to his/her ability through age appropriate drills and taught the basic rules of the game. Lesson plans are designed to address lots of repetitions on performing the fundamentals correctly. This beginner’s class will shoot on an 8 ft. /9ft./10 ft. basket using a 27.5” size basketball. Each participant will receive a t-shirt.

Monthly Fee: $60 per month member/$70 non-member (8 classes per month)

Drop in Fee: $15 per class member/non-member

Criteria: This class is for the serious basketball player looking to improve their game. The focus will be on a series of offensive moves including; jab step, rip through, showing the basketball, the Arizona Hop, the step back jump shot, along with a variety of off the dribble moves and post moves. We will be shooting on a 10 ft. basket with a regulation size basketball for your appropriate age.

Details: Each participant will be challenged to his/her ability through age appropriate drills. Lesson plans are designed to address lots of repetitions on performing the fundamentals correctly. Each participant will receive a t-shirt.
