LEVEL 1
Grade: Boy’s and Girl’s Kindergarten through 1st Grade
When: Tuesday’s and Thursday’s
Where: South River Road Courthouse
Times: 4:00- 5:00 p.m.
Practices Begin: Tuesday November 10, 2009
Practices End: Thursday March 18, 2009
Monthly Fee: $40 per month member/$50 non-member
Criteria: Level 1 is an introductory basketball class. Emphasis is stressed on dribbling with the head up, passing correctly, and developing the strength to shoot the ball on an 8 ft basket with proper form. Average ages of Level 1 participants are between 5-8.
Details: Each participant will be challenged to his/her ability through age appropriate drills and taught the basic rules of the game. Lesson plans are designed to address lots of repetitions on performing the fundamentals correctly. This beginner’s class will shoot on an 8 ft basket using a 27.5” size basketball. Each participant will receive a reversible practice jersey and t-shirt.
LEVEL 2
Grade: Boy’s and Girl’s Kindergarten or 3rd Grade

Criteria: Level 2 is an introductory basketball class built for graduates of Level 1. Level 2 participants can shoot on at least a 9 ft. basket consistently. Emphasis is stressed on dribbling with the head up, passing correctly, developing the strength, and learning the rules. Average ages of Level 2 participants are between 7-8.
Details: Each participant will be challenged to his/her ability through age appropriate drills and taught the basic rules of the game. They will practice with a team and begin playing games in January. This advanced beginner’s class will shoot on an 8 ft basket using a 28.5” size basketball. Each participant will receive a reversible practice jersey and t-shirt.
